Barnfonden is now looking for an experienced Programme Director.As a Program Director at Barnfonden, you will be a member of the leadership team, playing a key role in driving change within our organization, bringing fresh ideas and ensuring they come to fruition. We’re looking for someone who can also be a dependable back-stop, supporting and reinforcing others´ concepts with a collaborative spirit to ensure success.Barnfonden is a child-focused, international development organization based in Malmö. As a member of the ChildFund Alliance, Barnfonden is committed to improving the lives of children, their families, and communities by addressing poverty and building sustainable futures. As well as overseeing programmes that support the holistic development of children throughout their life stage journey, our focus is on integrating climate action into all our projects and working long-term for sustainable change. We believe in strengthening children´s rights through effective and creative collaborations where different actors complement each other to reach as far as possible for children´s rights.In your application letter, please demonstrate how you meet the following:
- Solid experience in international development work.
- A deep commitment to child rights and an understanding of the importance of child participation in development.
- An awareness of climate and environmental issues and their impact on children’s futures. Even better if this is your specialty area!
- At least two years experience of leading teams. We need a strong, empathetic, and effective people manager who can inspire and lead a team of four or more people.
- The ability to build collaborative partnerships with local partners, donors, and stakeholders (including in the private and public sector) to drive positive change.
- A solid track record of acquiring and managing multi-year grants with a budget exceeding SEK 5,000,000. Experience with EU, Sida or other large donor projects is essential.
- Strong skills in policy and guideline development, with the ability to understand, draft, and communicate these effectively.
- Financially astute and adept at setting budgets, cost/benefit analysis and compliance.
You will need to be:
- An innovative thinker who can spark ideas, inspire creativity, and drive new approaches.
- An exceptional organizer, with the ability to manage complex schedules, communicate clearly, and plan effectively. You must be able to thrive under pressure, handling evolving deadlines and change with resilience, flexibility and a calm, focused approach.
- A grounded and trustworthy individual with high integrity, capable of being a credible representative and spokesperson for the organization.
- Fluent in speaking and writing in Swedish and English. Any other language is a bonus!
