Job description
Purpose of the positionHIAB is looking for a Legal Counsel. You will provide comprehensive legal advice and support to the company to mitigate legal risks, ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and optimize business operations. The Legal Counsel plays a critical role in safeguarding the company’s interests and facilitating its growth.Main tasks and responsibilities
- Provide general legal advice to various business units on a wide range of legal matters, including contract negotiation and regulatory compliance
- Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial agreements, including vendor and customer agreements, ensuring that the company’s interests are protected and aligned with its strategic goals
- Identify, assess, and mitigate legal risks associated with the company’s business activities
- Ensure compliance with laws and regulations as well as policies, instructions and the Code of Conduct of Cargotec and Hiab
- Support in business development activities, including developing and reviewing contracts, policies and other documentation
- Manage dispute resolution cases
- Support in structural changes and selected M&A cases
- Educate and train key stakeholders on relevant legal issues, fostering a culture of legal awareness and compliance.
What you’ll need to succeedEducation
- M.Sc degree in Law
Experience
- Min 7-10 years of legal experience preferably as in-house counsel in an international setup
- Understanding of corporate and commercial legal matters
- Experience in government procurement processes relating to military products and understanding of public sector regulations and trade compliance is considered a merit
