RBW Consulting are proud to be partnered with a non-for-profit organization representing the largest network of academic groups dedicated to breast cancer research.They are looking for a Scientific/Medical Advisor to join their company which is described as friendly, flexible, and fantastic for learning.Responsibilities:Scientific activities:

  • Supports company scientific leadership, under the guidance of the Scientific Director, to develop and execute company scientific mission and strategic goals
  • Contributes to the collaborative conception of new patient-focused, interventional and non-interventional patient-oriented clinical trials, research programmes, and other company projects
  • Leads scientific/medical discussions during trial-specific meetings
  • Provides guidance/expertise related to scientific and medical matters, such as in developing translational research and addressing recommendations from ethics committees, health authorities, and IDMCs, as needed
  • Plans, contributes to, and follows-up on scientific, project, and business meetings, including those of trial-specific committees
  • Stays up to date with scientific and medical advances in the field of breast cancer and oncology
  • Complies with ICH-GCP, SOPs, and ethical conduct guidelines

Writing activities:

  • Writes/reviews study protocols, informed consent forms, as well as other core study documents
  • Develops abstracts, manuscripts, and presentations, in partnership with principal investigators and company leadership
  • Contributes to the development of grant applications to secure funding from various foundations and governmental organisations Collaborative activities
  • Works closely with the Project Managers and the Research Operations team during the set-up and conduct of clinical trials and research programmes with various scientific partners, including company members, other academic networks, patient advocate groups, pharmaceutical/biotechnology/other technology companies, and various vendors, amongst others
  • Supports the Research Operations team in the review of study documents such as meeting minutes, in meeting preparation, and various other study-related activities
  • Reviews study-related budgets and contracts, charters, and agreements developed by the Finance, Research Operations, and Legal teams, as needed
  • Works with the Communications and Philanthropy teams to develop scientifically accurate and relevant content and messaging to raise awareness and seek funds for breast cancer research, as needed
  • Provides scientific/medical training and guidance to company HQ colleagues, as needed External activities
  • Contributes to the scientific/medical aspects of various company collaborations, such as the company Patient Partnership Initiative and company task forces and working groups, including providing status updates to the Scientific Director, and the company Chair and Executive Board members
  • Represents the company in its various scientific activities, including attending and speaking at workshops, conferences, and other events, as needed

Ideal background:

  • Advanced medical/biological/pharmaceutical sciences degree (MD, PhD, or PharmD) with at least 5 years of relevant post-degree experience
  • Experience in oncology
  • Prior experience in oncology clinical research, particularly writing/reviewing study protocols, manuscripts, as well as grant applications
  • Prior experience interacting with external experts desired (eg, collaborating with academic researchers, key opinion leaders, industry partners)
  • Fluent in written and spoken English (French, Dutch or other languages are a plus)
  • Ability to travel (approx. 3 times/year)
