On behalf of Levanger Hospital in Trøndelag we’re looking for a pediatrician for a permanent full-time position.Trøndelag in central Norway is known for urban highlights, historical sights, and coastal life mixed with world-class food experiences. The area is perfect for activities like hiking, skiing, cycling, and fishing.Levanger Hospital is a local hospital who covers about 100,000 inhabitants in the southern part of Nord-Trøndelag. It’s a medium-sized local hospital with an emergency function, big enough to provide varied and interesting work tasks and small enough that it’s easy to collaborate across specialist fields.If you are a pediatric specialist looking to work in a department where you will engage with the entire field of pediatrics, this could be the job for you!The Pediatric and Rehabilitation Department at Helse Nord-Trøndelag (HNT) is one of four departments in the clinic for women, children and families. The department operates across both Namsos Hospital and Levanger Hospital under a unified leadership.The Pediatric and Rehabilitation Department at HNT comprises:Namsos Hospital:
- Outpatient clinic
Levanger Hospital:
- Inpatient ward for ages 0-18
- Unit for sick newborns
30 weeks * Day treatment and outpatient clinicThe Child and Youth Rehabilitation Service (HABU) with outpatient clinics at both hospitals. There are three teams located at Levanger Hospital and one team at Namsos Hospital.Currently, the Pediatric and Rehabilitation Department has 10 senior physicians; 9 at Levanger and 1 at Namsos. This position primarily involves working at Levanger.All senior consultants in the department have their subspecialties, and your potential subspecialty will enhance the professional environment. The hospital will facilitate further professional development and individual competency growth.The Pediatric and Rehabilitation Department is actively involved in research in close collaboration with NTNU, so there is an opportunity to become an active part of the hospital’s research community.Senior consultants currently work an 8-part on-call rotation in the inpatient and newborn ward at Levanger.Qualifications:
- Pediatric specialist.
- Medical license and specialist approval from an EU country.
- Professionally updated.
- Good communication skills in English, and motivated to learn Norwegian.
- A clean criminal record must be documented through a police certificate in accordance with the Health Personnel Act.
