Through collaboration, science, and advocacy, we’re creating sustainable, impactful solutions that benefit people and the environment.Acre is delighted to be supporting the ICA in the search for an Environment and Health Science Manager to join the Science & Regulatory Affairs (SRA) team in Europe. In this strategic role, you’ll work closely with colleagues, partners, and stakeholders to monitor EU policies, assess environmental and health impacts, and represent ICA’s science-based approach to regulatory affairs. This role requires regular engagement in Brussels and occasional travel beyond.Key Responsibilities:Policy Tracking and Strategy: Monitor emerging EU policies on human health and environmental protection; assess their impact on the copper industry and develop strategic responses.Stakeholder Engagement: Represent ICA in industry committees and working groups, fostering alliances that align with ICA’s regulatory and environmental goals.Science Advocacy: Support advocacy efforts with EU institutions by gathering scientific data on copper and health/environmental impact, ensuring global relevance.Cross-Regional Collaboration: Work with ICA staff globally to ensure consistent messaging and best practices across ICA’s focus areas, especially in the EU.Project Management: Oversee science and regulatory projects across borders, building relationships with members and external stakeholders.You’ll Bring:A significant scientific background, with ideally an M.Sc. or PhD in environmental science, toxicology, risk assessment, or a related discipline and 2-5 years in science-related project management, with expertise in metal fate, environmental impact, or EU chemical regulations (REACH, CLP).Strong communication skills and program management skills; proficiency in English (Spanish is a plus).Good industry knowledge and understanding of EU policies, life cycle assessment principles, and stakeholder engagement.A Self-motivated team player mindset, adept at problem-solving, and committed to building strong stakeholder relationships.Be a part of an organization that is at the forefront of copper’s contribution to a sustainable future.
