- Enhance overall operational compliance at the desk level by ensuring that work is performed at the branch in conformance to company policies and all government regulations
- Promote proactive and collaborative communication between yourself, the management team and branch staff
- Promote, as appropriate, proactive and collaborative communication with local and national representatives of government agencies related to trade activities
- Elevate the level of operational compliance awareness within the branch through strong communication, coaching and training, which includes on-the-job training, classroom training and CBT or workbook training
- Sustain compliance excellence to protect Expeditors, and for Expeditors, to deliver superior customer service
- Validate the effectiveness of our controls through constant monitoring, oversight, feedback and risk assessment
DutiesOPERATIONAL
- Maintain expertise in matters related to operational compliance for customs compliance.
- Provide operational oversight and visibility to management through the completion, compilation and internal publication of ongoing operational compliance assessments, audits and reviews of transactions performed in all departments by Expeditors staff utilizing various methods.
- Pre submission audits
- Customer specific audits
- Transition audits
- New employee audits
- Monthly internal assessment (Global Customs Import Reviews)
- Flash audits (spot check by value, origin, classification, KPIs)
- Support, compile and publish internal customs guidance
- Proactively seek and identify opportunities for compliance improvement utilizing Expeditors tools and systems
- PSM
- Edoc Lift, Raft
- Expo Customs
- Identify operational training requirements based on assessments, reviews, audits and employee interviews
- Participate in ongoing operational customs procedure training to branch through various methods available
- Deliver customs related training
- Monitor, support and manage post entry workbook
- Work with the Expeditors training and product teams on the content and delivery of internal and external training offering
- Support District Managers, Customs managers, District Trade Compliance Managers and or any other department Manager to elevate and resolve operational customs compliance issues or concerns in line with regulatory and company policies
- Manage operational compliance exception matters
- Support the company in maintaining all customs/OGA approved statuses, approvals and ongoing verifications (AEO, CFSP, ETSF)
- Support & guide products regarding the Expeditors OPS Operational Performance Standards procedures, milestones and KPI’s
SALES, TRANSITTION & IMPLEMENTATION
- Support transition and Implementation & Sales in relation to Customs matters.
- Support products on the review, creation, update and publication of all customs SOPs
- Support products on customs and trade customer reviews
- Support customers on customs and trade compliance matters
- Any other district, customs and trade product requirements
PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT
- Complete 52 hours of training per year

Qualifications
- 2 to 5 years related experience
- Good knowledge and understanding of; customs brokerage process, systems, regulations & legislation
- Knowledge of air, road and ocean transport.
- Understanding and knowledge of Ocean, Air, Distribution and Transportation documentation and processes.
- Effective interpersonal skills, including proven abilities to listen, comprehend, effectively
communicate clearly and concisely to obtain positive results
- Pro-active and strong organizational skills
- Good computer skills (Excel, and Outlook)
- Knowledge of Customs declaration elements
