Job Description:The Project QA/QC Manager is responsible for ensuring that the quality standards and procedures of the project are adhered to during the manufacturing, procurement, inspection, and testing phases. This role involves coordinating various quality surveillance activities, managing project documentation, and ensuring compliance with international standards. The QA/QC Manager will work closely with project teams, clients, and suppliers to ensure the highest quality standards are maintained throughout the project lifecycle.Key Responsibilities:Project Quality Management:
- Establish and monitor compliance with the Project Quality Plan, Project Quality Specifications, and Procedures.
- Implement quality requirements in Technical Requisitions (TR) in collaboration with the Responsible Package Engineer.
- Develop and oversee Project Inspection and Test Plans (ITP) and review, comment, and approve suppliers’ ITPs with the Package Responsible Engineer (PRE).
Quality Surveillance and Inspection:
- Coordinate Pre-Inspection Meetings with Suppliers and Clients.
- Ensure Quality Surveillance (QS) activities are performed by qualified inspectors and align with the QS Plan.
- Collaborate with Expediting to ensure all purchased goods/equipment/packages are inspected per approved ITPs and procedures.
- Conduct onsite inspections and supplier audits as required.
Issue Resolution and Reporting:
- Ensure root cause analysis, corrective, and preventive actions for project nonconformances.
- Coordinate and follow up on the correction of punches and their closure.
- Jointly review and resolve project-related quality issues with the Project Team.
- Provide quality input to weekly and monthly project reports.
- Review and comment on project QA/QC procedures, ITPs, Manufacturing Data Books (MDB), records, certificates, and inspection reports from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Compile and deliver the project QA/QC final dossier according to project requirements.
Financial Management:
- Support Project Manager and project team in activities for revenue recognition.
- Ensure QA/QC activities do not exceed the assigned budget and provide forecasts of these activities.
- Assist in tender activities when required.
Organizational Coordination:
- Report project quality performance to line and functional managers.
- Direct and coordinate project inspectors on site.
- Foster efficient cooperation with other disciplines in project execution.
Company Representation:
- Promote company policies and values.
- Proactively prevent non-compliances and engage in problem-solving.
- Initiate Quality and HSE improvement activities.
- Participate in the Wellstream Quality network.
Qualifications:Educational and Professional Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, etc.) or Quality Management.
- Relevant certifications (ISO, Six Sigma, etc.) are a plus.
Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant QA or QC experience.
- Experience in developing, implementing, and maintaining quality standards.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes, depending on the industry.
- Knowledge and application of ISO 9001 standards.
- Experience with internal and external auditing processes.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in using QA tools and methodologies such as testing tools and quality metrics.
- Understanding of industry-specific standards and regulations, e.g., ASME and API for oil and gas.
- Familiarity with non-destructive testing (NDT), welding procedures, and other relevant quality control processes.
- Data analysis and reporting skills using software such as Excel, Power BI, or specialized QA software.
- Expertise in root cause analysis and problem-solving techniques, e.g., 8D and Fishbone diagrams.
- Knowledge of project management principles and practices.
Soft Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to handle quality non-conformance issues and drive continuous improvement.
- Effective time management and ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
Certifications (Optional but Beneficial):
- ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor certification.
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt.
- Industry-specific certifications such as ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), CSWIP (for welding), NDT, Coating, or API certifications for oil and gas.
