Position Job Title: Product Development EngineerFunction: Research & DevelopmentLocation: Valkeakoski, Finland or Lodz, PolandLine Manager’s Job Title: Product Development ManagerContract Type: PermanentJob Dimensions & ScopeAs a member of the Global R&D organization, you will be responsible for executing and managing research and development projects and programs within the EMEA region, aligned with our business ambitions. You will collaborate closely with customers, manufacturing sites, raw material suppliers, machine manufacturers, and other functions such as sales and marketing to drive profitable growth through R&D programs.Your key responsibilities include applying material science in product development, product formulation/testing, and validating new developments with customers. You will regularly interact with product development peers both regionally and globally.This position is based in Valkeakoski (Finland), or Lodz (Poland), and requires approximately 20% travel within Europe.Principal Accountabilities:
- New Product Development from ideation to launch, supporting industrialization in Amcor and at Customers.
- Responsible for Improvement and Maintenance of existing products in coordination with Procurement, Marketing, Sales and Amcor plants.
- Responsible for project management of development programs in coordination with various stakeholders and functions.
- Management of own project’s portfolio in IMS (Amcor Innovation Management System)
- Close cooperation with raw material suppliers and packaging machine manufacturers
Qualifications and Experience
- Required:
- MSc and/or PhD degree in Chemistry, Polymers, or Material Science/Engineering.
- Demonstrated successful experience in project development and advanced technologies in academia or industry.
- Passion for R&D and High-Performance Culture oriented
- Excellent problem solving and prioritization skills
- Team player attitude
- Languages: Fluent in English.
- Strong additional assets:
- Experience in packaging and co-extrusion processes.
- Experience in fiber-based materials (paper, board, coatings) and extrusion coating.
- German speaking as good add-in.
