The role will support the Councils’ obligations to ensure it fulfils its responsibilities in relation to School Attendance, Children Missing Education, Child Employment, Litigation and Safeguarding.What’s the role ?The role provides the opportunity to support local authority objectives to fulfil its safeguarding and statutory duties through the delivery of accurate and efficient administration and business support across the attendance service. The post holder will play a fundamental role in day-to-day operations and will serve as a central point of contact for internal and external stakeholders to ensure the delivery of a seamless service to schools.The successful candidate should have experience supporting the management and delivery of high-quality administration support to a service. They should be confident in acting as a point of contact for the department and be an example of professionalism and discretion with the ability to be adaptable, flexible and maintain a high level of confidentiality.Other key responsibilities would include to:
- Undertake day to day business support to ensure the effective running of the service, including ability to use a range of information and communication technology to create, process and share data and information with stakeholders.
- Accurately maintain a database of all pupils who are missing education, require performance or employment licensing or have school attendance concerns.
- Manage correspondence and public contact utilising the council’s management information system appropriately ensuring records are correctly stored and maintained.
- Provide support and facilitation for meetings including coordination, production and distribution of papers and taking and circulation of minutes.
- Support the litigation administrative process in accordance with agreed legal protocol, education law and legislation.

What we’re looking forWe are looking for a hardworking, enthusiastic person with a pro-active approach to work with knowledge and experience of:
- Legislation and guidance in relation to School Attendance, Children Missing Education and Child Employment.
- The available legal measures in enforcing School Attendance and the appropriate application of the measures.
- Significant experience in the use and application of a range of ICT platforms including word, excel, power point and ability to produce visual representations such as workflow diagrams.
- Proven track record of managing and maintaining data base or management information systems effectively.
- Working in an enforcement/investigation related discipline/Attendance Welfare.
- Experience of working in an enforcement/investigation related discipline.
- Experience of working with vulnerable children and families.
LocationThe job is primarily based in Laurence House, 1 Catford Road, London, SE6 4RU, but we operate a hybrid approach where you will be required to work both in the office and from home on a regular basis.Special conditions
