Function Owner and System Design Engineer – Vehicle Speed Control and LimitationPosition Overview:We are looking for a skilled and motivated Function Owner and System Design Engineer to join our team developing software solutions that improve the efficiency, convenience, and safety of our vehicles. The role will primarily focus on Vehicle Speed Control and Limitation functions, which include cruise control, speed limiters, and related sub-functions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, defining requirements and strategies for various End User Functions (EUFs) across multiple vehicle brands and platforms.Key Responsibilities:

  • Function Ownership:
  • Serve as the Function Owner for Vehicle Speed Control and Limitation, managing various sub-functions such as cruise control and speed limitation.
  • Define all EUF (End User Function) requirements related to end-user functionality, safety, quality, functional variation, and platform harmonization.
  • EUF Strategy Development:
  • Establish both short-term and long-term strategies for EUF development, ensuring alignment with input from product planning, Feature Specialists, Requirement Owners, and other key stakeholders.
  • Create and manage brand-distinctive features and ensure platform harmonization across vehicle models.
  • Stakeholder Management:
  • Act as the voice of the Product Owner for one EUF within projects, representing the needs and expectations of stakeholders throughout the development process.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, ensuring that solutions align with overall project objectives and product lifecycle requirements.
  • Solution Provider:
  • Provide technical solutions for the assigned EUF, working across different modules, domains, and engineering departments.
  • Lead problem-solving initiatives throughout all phases of the product lifecycle.
  • Quality and Compliance Activities:
  • Lead and perform quality assurance activities such as Functional Safety, Cyber Security, and Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEAs).

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably in Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong technical background in the vehicle domain, with hands-on experience in Vehicle Speed Control and Limitation systems such as cruise control and speed limiters.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with engineers, designers, project managers, and other cross-functional teams.
  • Leadership Skills: Demonstrated leadership experience, with the ability to manage and motivate teams, and a deep understanding of your assigned functions.
  • Problem Solving: Skilled in analyzing complex issues, identifying root causes, and proposing effective solutions.
