We are looking for you!For our Medical Affairs Department in Brussels we are currently recruiting a Medical Affairs Lead (Associate Director) Oncology.Purpose of the roleAs a Medical Affairs Lead Oncology you will lead the development of the medical strategy and you will drive the strategic and tactical execution of the company’s oncology, immune-oncology and oncology supportive care products. Development and execution of the strategy is done in close collaboration with the Oncology Business Unit Head and the Local Market Access Lead and with other local and regional stakeholders.You will report into the Country Medical Director and you will manage a team of 6 Oncology Medical Advisors.Welcome in our teamOur Medical Affairs team advances patient care by engaging in scientific exchange with external medical experts and industry leaders ensuring the scientific value of our products is understood. We connect, communicate and train internal employees to ensure a thorough understanding of the science behind the medicine and review further unmet medical needs to support collaboration to further differentiate our portfolio.Main responsibilities

  • Inspire, challenge and provide direction, prioritize activities & resources, set objectives and monitor performance against objectives of the oncology medical affairs team in pursuit of our mission within Belgium & Luxemburg (BeLux) ;
  • Act as a role model in the field when it pertains to building solid and meaningful/ purposeful customer relationships with Scientific Leaders and other relevant local Health Care Community members ;
  • Seek input & transfer knowledge about the company’s products and their utilization in BeLux and drive (internal & external) decision making and progress of projects that improve the lives of people with cancer ;
  • Manage and guide a strong team of Oncology Medical Advisors ;
  • Reinforce the cohesion of the group, harmonize the ways of working in close alignment with the other medical therapeutic area leads ;
  • Foster collaboration with the marketing and external affairs colleagues.

Your profile

  • MD, PharmD or PhD degree in Life Sciences is required ;
  • Work experience and in-depth scientific knowledge in the oncology field is required ;
  • People management experience is a plus ;
  • These skills are a must: foster collaboration, build talents by inspiring & eloquently expressing vision, prioritizing & giving direction, capable of rapid & disciplined decision maker, act with courage & candor, drive results and demonstrate ethics and integrity ;
  • Solid medical skills allowing acting as a role model to the oncology medical team and helping the company’s cross-functional team come up with creative solutions ;
  • Excellent communication skills, strong customer orientation and strong listening skills ;
  • Team player and action-oriented matrix networker ;
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English; French and/ or Dutch language skills are required as well.
