Mechanical Engineer & Continuous Improvement SpecialistOverview:We are looking for a dynamic Mechanical Engineer & Continuous Improvement Specialist to take charge of training and quality assurance within our business. In this role, you will play a crucial part in enhancing the skills and capabilities of our engineering team. Your expertise in electrical and mechanical systems, as well as project and people management, will be key to your success. You will also be the primary liaison with manufacturers’ technical departments. Strong communication and presentation skills are essential, and an ideal candidate will have a trade qualification, a Level 6 certification, or an engineering degree.Core Responsibilities:Training and Development:
- Lead and manage all training programs for engineers and staff to meet company standards.
- Develop and implement tailored training plans for each employee.
- Create a dynamic and interactive database of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and learning resources.
- Provide hands-on assistance to engineers on-site when needed.
- Facilitate both internal and external processes aimed at delivering top-tier customer service.
- Sign off on staff training as per company policy and oversee the continuous improvement of skills.
Quality Assurance:
- Conduct site audits to ensure that the engineering work aligns with quality expectations.
- Establish and maintain a structured quality assurance system to monitor the standard of engineering work.
- Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all lifting equipment across the business.
Operational Support:
- Provide relief engineering support when required, both on and off-site.
- Capture and relay feedback from engineers and customers to senior management.
- Be a professional representative of the company in all interactions.
Management and Reporting:
- Report to senior management on the training needs and performance of individual engineers.
- Ensure that all Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) necessary to achieve business goals—both financial and non-financial—are met.
- Manage and develop a training matrix to track employee progress and individual development plans.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong background in electrical, mechanical, and project management.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams effectively.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Familiarity with the technical aspects of working with manufacturers.
- Trade qualification, Level 6 certification, or a degree in engineering is preferred.

- Punctual, diligent, and courteous with a commitment to high standards.
- Willingness to attend additional company training as required.

- Support the development of processes that align with world-class service delivery.
- Ensure a structured approach to measuring on-site quality of work.
