You will report into the Product Director for the Product Area that you join. You will be working with other designers, product managers and scrum teams as we build out our workforce management and employee engagement capabilities. There are millions of employees and thousands of users performing business critical activities every month with our solutions – the challenge for this role is to help optimise and enhance the user experience to make it as effective as possible and ultimately to delight the user.This is a really interesting challenge across both web and mobile and with a product like no other! It provides a compelling opportunity for the right person to make a game-changing impact to the future of frontline workers.What you’ll be doing
- Mentors and coaches junior members of the team, reviewing work and giving constructive feedback
- Run discovery & ideation processes to capture requirements to capture user needs and translate into designs which meld user, business and technical requirements
- Creates assets such as final designs, prototypes, personas, user journeys, experience maps, wireframes, conceptual ideas and information architecture artefacts to help the business understand the patterns, best practices and execution plans required to deliver delight to our customers.
- Creates design guidance documentation and templates to contribute to our ever-expanding Experience Language
- Produces work of an outstanding quality, following design processes and standards closely on all projects.
- Works with developers to communicate and evaluate design through to implementation – keeping a constant and open communication channel to ensure products are delivered to the highest standard.
- Developing and maintaining a sound understanding of users’ processes, requirements and personas, increasing domain knowledge of our key divisions.
- Initiates and supports engagement with users through Special Interest Groups, User Groups, research projects and other UX activities.
What you’ll bring to the team
- Excellent communication, listening and influencing skills. Demonstrates collaborative approach, diplomacy, ability to motivate teams and the ability to steer a team to the most appropriate solution.
- Able to communicate well with various stakeholders, to understand business context, and to explain what the implications of a technical decision are.
- Able to take ownership of projects, guiding other team members and supporting the project lead to deliver fantastic results on time.
- Be an authority on best practice, both in terms of industry standard and team standards. Sets a good example for junior team members
- Have a sharp eye for detail and easily spot imperfections; this should be shown in the quality of their own work and in their feedback to other team members.
- Highly proficient in their chosen specialisms and comfortable sharing that information through training sessions and workshops
- Great facilitation skills for a number of common workshop activities
- Able to make creative, prioritisation & process decisions
- Able to work on multiple projects simultaneously whilst balancing additional responsibilities and commitments
