Learn more about Kemira at .We are looking for an innovative and result-oriented Senior Research Scientist for Innovative Fibers (Textile Fibers & Nonwovens) team at our Espoo Research and Innovation organization. As a Senior Research Scientist, you will focus on developing and commercializing products for various textile and nonwoven processes, in alignment with Kemira’s growth strategy. You will work together with global stakeholders including R&D, business, sales and application teams to support the business needs.In this role you will be responsible for:
- Contributing to Kemira growth strategy by developing chemical solutions and bringing expertise in the areas of nonwovens and textile fibers with the focus on cellulosic materials
- Coordinating and conducting high quality scientific research and conveying the learnings to diverse audiences and concrete customer value propositions
- Continuously developing Kemira laboratory capabilities to meet the needs of the industry
- Collaborating actively with multiple internal functions (such as Application, Sales, Product line, PSRA, Manufacturing, IP) and external stakeholders to jointly develop and commercialize solutions
- Following industry trends and advancements to introduce innovative ideas
- Developing Kemira’s IP
What you bring to the team:
- In-depth knowledge and industry experience in the area of nonwovens or textile fibers with fundamental understanding and application knowhow of chemical approaches
- Understanding the regulatory frame work and value chain in these areas is a benefit
- Excellent safety attitude and willingness to continuously improve safety culture in day-to-day operations
- Innovative and research oriented attitude and passion to solve problems and courage to drive constant improvement by challenging existing status and identifying new ways of working
- Customer focused and result oriented team player with excellent collaboration skills
- Academic degree (M.Sc./PhD) in chemistry or chemical engineering, fiber and polymer technology, polymer chemistry, organic chemistry or similar
- Excellent communication and reporting skills in English
