Biffa Treatment Services is a leading waste-to-product business ideally positioned to be part of the solution to some of the main environmental problems facing society today: reducing waste, avoiding pollution, and preventing the unnecessary use of finite natural resources.Biffa Treatment Services employs approximately 700 employees over 39 locations and collectively we handle more than 1.97 million tonnes of waste annually, achieving a 73% recycling and recovery rate.Key responsibilities

  • Ensure tasks are carried out to standard; on time, first time right.
  • Report any defects, downtime, delays or poorly performing assets to supervisor. Carry out any agreed corrective actions.
  • Carry out inspections, cleaning, lubrication and trigger tests as scheduled
  • Follow standards and settings defined by Process Controller and Process Team.
  • Follow all emergency processes and procedures.
  • Report any concerns in a timely manner.
  • Attend specialist training courses
  • Able to apply and verify isolations in line with LOTO procedure.
  • Able to confirm work areas are safe prior to LOTO implementation and removal. (ie safe to start)
  • Able to cover staff positions across the RWTF process including Process controller, Mobile Plant operator

Experience, Education & Qualifications

  • Demonstrable experience of driving and improving process changes, resulting in greater efficiencies
  • An ambitious can-do attitude
  • Ability to remain calm and level-headed is essential

Desirable

  • Experience of working within a 24/7 operation with varied shifts
  • Loading shovel training
  • FLT Trained
  • Experience in LoTo
  • Previous Scada experience
