Job Title: Injection Moulding EngineerLocation: WaterfordOverview:Hartley People Recruitment is seeking an Injection Moulding Engineer to join a leading team in Waterford.The successful candidate will play a key role in developing and implementing production and processing methods to ensure quality standards are met in the most efficient manner. This position focuses on troubleshooting, process monitoring, and resolving quality issues for both new and existing moulding processes.Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the introduction of new tools, including tool trials at toolmakers and in-house, tool setup, qualification runs, and handover to production.
- Assist in the design and debugging of new systems, tooling, and automation.
- Complete IQ, OQ, PQ validation reports.
- Conduct designed experiments to enhance processes, improve yields, and optimize setups and cycle times.
- Act as a front-line liaison with customers, suppliers, and toolmakers.
- Maintain and manage Moulding Process Systems, including setting sheets, process control, and deviation management.
- Troubleshoot processes and support Team Leaders as required.
- Collaborate daily with the tool room, maintenance, production, and quality teams.
- Develop and implement maintenance programs for moulding and ancillary equipment.
- Promote and maintain a clean, safe working environment, supporting TeamLeaders and Line Coordinators.
- Ensure compliance with company safety and quality programs, GMP practices, and record-keeping requirements.
- Adhere to learnings from all GMP training events and ensure ongoing compliance.
- Take on additional responsibilities as required, based on departmental and company needs.
Requirements:
- Degree in Polymer or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- 3-5 years of experience in a high-volume moulding environment.
- Knowledge of cleanroom procedures and medical moulding.
- Experience with process setup and validation, including process window studies and IQ, OQ, PQ validations.
Skills and Attributes:
- Strong teamwork skills and ability to collaborate in a team environment.
- Excellent organizational, communication, computer, and presentation skills.
- Systematic troubleshooting abilities.
- Strong leadership in resolving technical issues.
- Lean Six Sigma skills are an advantage.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications and MS Project.
- Familiarity with SIM/RJG process setup is advantageous.
