Job descriptionOur client, a dynamic and growing organisation in the retail sector, is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounts Assistant to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong administrative and finance skills to contribute to a fast-paced environment.Key Responsibilities1. Daily Cash and Sales Reconciliation
- Reconcile cash, card, and other payment methods with POS reports.
- Investigate till shortages and maintain accurate daily banking records.
2. Invoice Processing & Supplier Management
- Process and match supplier invoices with delivery dockets and POs.
- Manage supplier queries and maintain strong vendor relationships.
3. Payroll Support (Desirable but not essential)
- Record staff hours and assist in payroll preparation.
- Maintain employee attendance and holiday tracking records.
4. Stock and Inventory Recordkeeping
- Monitor stock levels, reconcile deliveries, and support periodic stocktakes.
5. Banking and Lodgements
- Prepare and lodge cash and cheque deposits.
- Record petty cash and banking transactions.
6. VAT and Revenue Reporting
- Assist with VAT returns and liaise with external accountants as required.
7. Financial Data Entry & Reporting
- Input financial transactions using Sage, QuickBooks, or Xero.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly accounts and reports.
8. Customer Account Management
- Process credit applications, manage balances, and follow up on outstanding payments.
9. Administrative Support
- Organise financial documents and assist with internal audits and compliance.
10. Departmental Liaison
- Collaborate with store managers, floor staff, and external auditors.
- Provide financial insights and admin support to the wider retail team.
Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience in an accounts or finance administration role.
- Proficiency in accounting software (Sage, QuickBooks, or Xero).
- Strong Excel and data entry skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with payroll processes (advantageous but not essential).
Job Type: Full-timePay: Up to €35,000.00 per yearSchedule:
- Monday to Friday
