We are seeking for a “Backend Developer” for our client operating in digital marketing industry.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering/Science or related field or equivalent professional experience,
• Min. Upper Intermediate knowledge of English (Written and verbal),
• Minimum 2-3 years experience building complex, high traffic sites using WordPress or custom PHP,
• Expertise in creating and implementing custom themes and at least the desire to build custom plugins,
• Experience with estimating, planning, designing, testing, and building WordPress sites,
• Experience writing code with a focus on security and performance,
• Experience working with at least one automated testing framework,
• Experience implementing complex WordPress solutions,
• Familiar with modern PHP (for example: OOP, PHP 7, Composer, PSR’s, Laravel, or Symfony),
• Knowledgeable and opinionated about software maintainability,
• Self-driven continuing education on framework and broader software development practices,
• Comfort at the SQL command line,
• Good knowledge of relational databases, version control tools and of developing web services,
• A working knowledge of WordPress; generally know when to use something off-the-shelf, and when a custom solution is appropriate,
• Experience using the command-line to perform daily tasks, git skills are very important,
• Experience with WPEngine is a good to have.

Responsibilities:

• Applying architectural knowledge to new projects,
• Engineering mid to large-scale and sometimes complex websites using WordPress, including custom theme, and plugin development,
• Develop back-end components, connect the application with other web services,
• Writing clean, well designed code, following industry best practices,
• Solving complex performance problems and architectural challenges,
• Know when to leverage contributed or paid plugins and when to build custom plugins,
• Maintain and administer WordPress themes, plugins and sites,
• Using git and code reviews before pushing,
• Working knowledge using and building Custom Post Types, Taxonomies, Guten blocks, WP Bakery, ACF Fields, faceted search, gravity forms modifications,
• Ensuring high-performance and availability, and managing all technical aspects of the CMS
• Maintain running websites,
• Perform troubleshooting after launching and while hosting a website,
• Tech-savvy professional, who is curious about new digital technologies and aspires to combine usability with visual design,
• Develop and test across multiple browsers, platforms, and devices,
• Participate in discussions with team members and third-parties about technical best practices and help identify optimal technical solutions,
• Understanding of overall architecture of modern web applications,
• Maintain code quality, integrity and responsiveness of web applications,
• Understanding and implementation of security and data protection,
• Ensuring high-performance and availability, and managing all technical aspects of the CMS,
• Dealing with all developing projects process, being part of discussions with team members and third-parties,
• Create and ensure the technical feasibility of responsive UI/UX designs,
• Assist in improving quality, performance, and stability of front-end codebases,
• Working on MailChimp to execute various newsletter templates.
