Do you want to gain hands-on experience building scalable cloud solutions that make a real impact on companies around the world?At HR-ON, we’re looking for a student software developer to join our team with a focus on API integrations and backend development. This is a great opportunity to grow your skills while contributing to a meaningful product used by companies across Europe.As we expand in the German market, we’re especially looking for someone with native-level (mother tongue) German proficiency and ideally some understanding of the German HR landscape – including job portals, payroll, or time registration systems.Your RoleAs a student backend developer at HR-ON, you will support the team in further developing our serverless HR platform. You will work closely with experienced developers, with tasks such as:Assisting in the development and maintenance of GraphQL and REST APIs.Supporting integration with third-party systems and ensuring stable API connections.Working with databases like PostgreSQL and MariaDB to manage data flow.Contributing to backend functionality in Node.js and TypeScript.Collaborating with other developers and stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions.We’ll match the complexity of tasks to your current level while helping you grow into more responsibility over time.Who Are You?You are a student within software development, IT, computer science, or a related field, and you:Have basic experience or coursework in backend development and APIs.Are curious about technologies like Node.js, TypeScript, GraphQL, and cloud computing.Are structured and eager to learn best practices from experienced developers.Speak German as your native (mother tongue) language, with deep cultural understanding (a plus if you know about the local job tech ecosystem).Thrive in a collaborative environment with flexibility and trust.Bonus if you’ve already played around with AWS, Linux scripting, or type-safe code — but it’s not a requirement.What We OfferA student job with real responsibility, mentorship, and room to grow.Flexible working hours that fit your studies.The chance to work with modern tools and real-world API integrations.A team that values self-management, trust, and purpose over hierarchy.A centrally located office in Odense, plus the option for hybrid work.We’re happy to tailor the job scope based on your availability (typically 10–15 hours/week).About HR-ONHR-ON is a growing HR tech company based in Odense, working with clients across Europe, including Denmark, Germany, Norway, and Japan.
