Would you like to help lead a new craft café? At Red Cross Aalborg, we would like to start a café where participants across generations meet and do craft together.There is a growing interest in making creative projects such as your own clothes, bags, dishcloths, etc. and recycling fabric and yarn. We will use this as the focal point for a craft café that is aimed at anyone who is interested in meeting others about craft. There will be a special focus on getting young people involved in this community.The activity will provide an opportunity to learn from each other and to learn new things together.We imagine that there will be two activity leaders who can share the tasks. In addition, there are many of us who will help you get started with the tasks.We have just taken over the lease on a house in Ågade in Aalborg city center, where we gather many Red Cross activities. This café will also be in the house. You will have the opportunity to help decorate the creative space where the café will be and help purchase equipment for the activity. We can get a lot of material from our store in Vejgård, where we get donated fabric and yarn, among other things.As an activity manager, you get a lot in return:

What you do as an activity leaderAs an activity leader, you will initiate the activity, recruit volunteers and get participants to the activity. In addition, you will become part of the Red Cross House and see other activity leaders, volunteers and users. There will be meeting activities with volunteers in the activity and with the board contact person.The amount of time you can expect to spend on the activity will depend largely on you and will probably vary throughout the year. Most activity leaders spend 3-4 hours a week. In the beginning, you should expect to spend more time. And of course, you will be able to take vacations.It is an advantage that you:
- Are you interested in needlework? But you don’t have to be a master at needlework.
- Is good at collaborating with many different people.
- Communicates clearly and patiently and values collaboration.
- Passionate about creating something with others.
