Job Title: Allocations Officer (Housing Options)PermanentFull Time – 37 hours per weekGrade E (SCP23 – 27) – £28,524 – £31,857Closing Date for accepting applications: 29th October 2024(Starting salary dependent upon skills and qualifications, progression subject to satisfactory performance)This is an exciting time to join the Housing Department as it is undergoing a transformation project called ‘getting our house in order’. We have ambitious plans to improve and transform services for our customers.The Council is seeking to recruit a full-time permanent Allocations Officer. You will be responsible for the allocations and nominations of any vacant Brentwood Council housing stock and Housing Association vacancies in line with Brentwood Council’s Allocations Policy. Experience of working in the field of allocations would be desirable. You will be required to carry out home visits to assess their living conditions and therefore driving licence and use of car essential.You will also need to demonstrate the following:

• Experience of working in the field of housing

• Experience of carrying out visits to people in their own homes

• The ability to work under pressure either alone working or in a team environment.

• Willingness and flexibility to work outside normal hours when necessary

• A customer focus

• Comprehensive knowledge of housing & homelessness policy, procedures and legislation.
