Job description

Tasks Include: * Help with the appearance of the shop internally and externally. * Engage with customers in a friendly and efficient manner. * Ensure the shop is stocked with adequate information and leaflets on APA work and queries from the public are dealt with in an efficient manner. * Be aware of Health & Safety policy in the shop and bring any concerns to the attention of the manager. * Help maintain a high standard of hygiene in the shop. * Handle sales at till. * Prepare donated stock for display. * Assist with pricing and sales as directed by manager. * Undertake other duties as may be requested by the line manager from time to time. * Note: The role occasionally requires an ability to lift heavy items of furniture. Time Commitment: 19.5 hours per week Benefits: * Gaining a better understanding of sales and retail. * Ongoing training as appropriate. * Knowledge that your contribution will enhance the lives of marginalised groups, especially that of women in Ethiopia & Tanzania. * Experience and camaraderie by working with other committed volunteers. Ideal Candidate: * Excellent Customer Service Skills: Friendly and outgoing personality. * Strong Organizational Skills: Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks. * Retail Experience: Previous retail experience is beneficial but not essential. * Team Player: Willingness to work collaboratively with colleagues and volunteers. * Passion for Charity Work: Genuine interest in supporting a good cause. * Willing and able to be involved in physical tasks of moving heavy items of furniture.
