With our mask writers, we contribute significantly to the global semiconductor industry and enable the production of state-of-the-art chips that are used in powerful cell phones, PCs and data centers.Application Debugging Engineer (m/f/d)In this position you have the opportunity to develop into a multi-beam mask writer (MBMW) generalist and further into an expert role. You will debug and support hardware and software related application issues of MBMWs. Understanding, characterization, segmentation and resolving of issues should be carried out individually with help of an experienced and supportive team in the background. This role is based in Vienna and involves up to 20% travel per year to our customer sites around the world for feedforward-knowledge transfer missions to local engineers (special compensation for travel, cleanroom operation and overtime).Your Responsibilities:

• Learning on the job and getting up to speed with troubleshooting and tuning methods for the MBMW system
• Supporting local teams in debugging and calibrating the MBMW tool
• Participation in Continuous Improvement Projects and Task Forces
• Development, documentation and knowledge transfer of new debugging approaches and strategies
• The first year will be focused on diving into the MBMW System and learning current debugging approaches

Your Qualification:

• Completed technical education in physics, nanoscience or similar (B.sc).
• At least 3 years of relevant work experience.
• Hands-on, driving progress, “teamwork is the key to success”.
• Demonstrate technical skills in physics, optics being ideal.
• Passionate about technology.
• Detailed knowledge of MBMW Sub-system desirable.
• Knowledge in Python scripting is an advantage.
• Knowledge in nano characterization, nano fabrication and photolithography is of advantage.
• Knowledge about vacuum systems would be useful.
• Assumption of on-call duty.
• Willingness to travel abroad occasionally (1-2 times per year).
