Job DescriptionYour responsibilitiesJoin the and contribute to the development of the project. Your work will directly impact the design of both the Hadron-Hadron collider (FCC-hh) and Electron-Positron collider (FCC-ee), paving the way for new discoveries in high-energy physics.Your RoleAs an Applied Physicist, you will:

• Develop the FCC-hh lattice, ensuring compatibility with FCC-ee optics and optimizing energy reach.
• Analyze the impact of multipolar field errors at various injection energies.
• Contribute to an alternative FCC-hh optics design using combined-function magnets, with a focus on controlling the three emittances affected by radiation damping and intrabeam scattering.
• Evaluate and enhance beam dynamics simulation tools, incorporating key effects like radiation damping.
• Explore strategies for luminosity optimization, including lower beam currents or luminosity energy levelling.
• Support FCC-ee optics development, investigating the feasibility of stable islands for top-up injection and assessing Higgs optics performance using nonlinear observables.
• Examine the potential benefits of an FCC-ee combined-function magnet optics approach.

• Knowledge of single-particle beam dynamics
• Knowledge of non-linear beam dynamics
• Knowledge of Beam optics
• Fluent in English, the ability to work in French would be an advantage.

• You are a national of a

. * You have a professional background in Applied physicist (or a related field) and have either:

• a Master’s degree with 2 to 6 years of post-graduation professional experience;
• or a PhD with no more than 3 years of post-graduation professional experience.
• You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
