The PositionThe Assets & Operations Manager is responsible for the safe operation and maintenance of the terminal, and the overall quality of the operational service.The Assets & Operations Manager has 4 direct reports and you will be a member of the company’s 4-person management team, and report directly to the company’s CEO.Responsibilities and assignments

  • Responsible for operating the terminal safely.
  • Monitor changes in legislation and familiarize him/herself with different new technologies.
  • Assess future trends and prepare the terminal for the new requirements.
  • Participate as a representative of the company in the official working groups.
  • Optimize terminal operations to achieve maximum efficiency and profitability for the Company
  • To examine the technical and qualitative possibilities of dealing with the products offered
  • Identify any additional charges for specific requirements
  • Find solutions to possible unexpected deviations or problems
  • Background work in resolving potential “claims”
  • Attend customer events, as needed

Planning and management og operational work:

  • Ensuring the uninterrupted operation of the terminals
  • Defining the priority order of operational work in cooperation with the Operations Supervisor, Engineering & Maintenance Supervisors, and the Customer Service Supervisor.
  • Liaising with stakeholders: BKL, Neighbouring facilities, Port authority, inspection companies, brokers/freight forwarders, cleaning/washing companies, software vendors, contractors and, when required, customers.

Resoruce Management:The Assets & Operations Manager participates in the definition of long-term resources in cooperation with the various parties.Long-term assessment and definition of additional resource needs

  • Where appropriate, assessment of the need for external contractors.
  • Participates, if necessary, in the preparing of job descriptions for personnel (key persons) and monitoring of related changes (including grading of work)
  • Participation in Employer Union (3F) meetings or designation of a deputy.

Training:The Assets & Operations Manager is responsible for developing, and designing, internal and external training programs for the safe operation of the terminal in coordination with the HSSE Manager, Engineering & Maintenance Supervisors, Operations Supervisor, and the HR Manager.Emergency organization:Following the internal emergency plan, the Assets & Operations Manager participates in the emergency measures (on-site).Repair & maintenance:The Assets & Operations Manager is responsible for the planning and implementation of maintenance and maintenance operations, together with the Engineering Supervisors and the Operations Supervisor. Contributing to the initiation, documentation, and maintenance of change management.Investment projects:The Assets & Operations Manager is responsible for the preparation of proposals/design for investments, and overall management of the investments, including preparation of AfE documents for approval by Company standards.HSSE:The Assets & Operations Manager participates with other employee groups to monitor compliance with the company’s HSSE policy:

  • Control of the use of protective equipment (own and guests)
  • Reporting of deviations detected by the internal organization.
  • Development of safe practices
  • Identifying and eliminating hazardous factors
  • Minimizing environmental risks
  • The implementation and compliance of external guidelines/regulations (port and governmental bodies)

Finance:

  • The Assets & Operations Manager participates in the preparation of short and long-term budgets for the terminal.
  • Fully complies with terminal cost budgets
  • Follow previous realization
  • Participates in the verification of purchase invoices

The CandidateProfessional Qualifications

  • Senior management experience
  • Operations experience
  • Engineering degree (Advantage, but not a must)
  • You have experience in managing of hourly paid employees (3F)
  • You have an interest in renewable energies; Carbon Capture, Power-to-X and other future technologies
