Applicants who have already submitted their application do not need to re-apply.Organizational SettingThe Director General’s Office (DGO) provides leadership and coordination for all IAEA activities at the executive level for meeting Member States’ needs, and achieving a one-house approach and a results-based management.Main PurposeUnder the supervision and guidance of a senior staff in DGO, the Associate Coordination Officer (RM and Partnerships) provides assistance and support to the activities related to mobilization of extrabudgetary resources from non-traditional donors and partners, and the necessary coordination support to related projects. The Associate Coordination Officer (RM and Partnerships) assists in research and analysis, review and clearance of various reports, internal documents, and correspondence. She/he supports resource mobilization and partnerships coordination with other Major Programmes and supports the development of Agency-wide policies, tool, processes and procedures.RoleThe Associate Coordination Officer (RM and Partnerships) is: (a) an programme and policy analyst, providing background information through research on relevant issues and interaction with counterparts in house, and with non-traditional donors and partners; (b) a liaison, coordinating and cooperating with project managers in DGO and the Offices reporting directly to IAEA Director General to ensure the further development of the policy framework, and ensuring strong cross-Departmental work in the area of resource planning, mobilization and reporting related to non-traditional donors; (c) a team member, assisting senior professionals in the DGO with decision-making support and in-house coordination to ensure full alignment of resource mobilization activities with non-traditional donors and partners with internal colleagues and partners.Functions / Key Results Expected

  • Support the review, analysis and formulation of Agency policies and operational guidelines/internal procedures in relation to partnerships and resource mobilisation efforts;
  • Work closely with relevant Agency departments and offices with issues relating to the operationalization of the Agency’s approach to resource mobilisation;
  • Support the preparation and edition of transparent, high-quality reports and publications for Member States ensuring accuracy and correctness;
  • Serve as the Secretary to internal coordination mechanisms on partnerships and resource mobilisation, when required;
  • Support relations with non-traditional donors as they pertain to the Agency through the identification of trends and opportunities;
  • Support the coordination of the submission of proposals, ensuring quality and relevance;
  • Support data analysis and research related to traditional and non-traditional donors, including maintaining databases on donor relations management, drafting routine correspondence to donors;
  • Maintain an overview of the status of partnerships and resource mobilisation activities with partners throughout the Agency;
  • Support the review and refinement of the resource mobilization approach for non-traditional donors and partners for the Agency wide programmes to support new emerging opportunities;
  • Promote diversity in the funding of programmes and support efforts to identify new donors to complement the implementation of the IAEA programmes;
  • As relevant, establish and broaden relations with traditional or non-traditional donors and financial partners and analyse information on their funding priorities and trends; Assist in providing training on topics related to the programme and cross-cutting activities.

  • First level university degree in business or public administration, finance, law, international relations or a closely related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience preferably in establishing relationships with various non-traditional stakeholders, resource mobilization tools and mechanisms and project development, preferably with international organizations or non-traditional partners and donors.
  • Experience in resource mobilization or outreach to non-traditional partners and donors would be an asset.
  • Proven analytical skills. Ability to work with discretion and confidentiality, with excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent oral and written command of English. Knowledge of other official IAEA languages (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish) is an asset.
