We look forward to receiving your application!Work assignmentsThe Laboratory of Organic Electronics (LOE) conducts research, undergraduate education, and postgraduate education in organic electronics and energy materials. Within the Organic Energy Materials research unit, we explore and utilize the physics and chemistry of new organic and composite materials to design and fabricate the next generation of energy devices.Our research includes synthesis, theory, design, as well as characterization of materials and integration of new materials into energy devices. Our work spans from fundamental research to the commercialization of research results. The energy devices we focus on are various types of batteries, and thus the developed materials may include electrolytes, membranes, and electrodes.As an associate professor in organic electronics, you will teach at undergraduate and postgraduate level in English, as well as supervise students in technical faculty’s different educational programmes. The work includes course design and course coordination responsibility.You are active in the research community, participate in the division’s activities such as seminars and workshops, participate in research projects, communicate results through academic publications and help attract external research funding.You contribute actively to the university’s development work. We would like you to show interest in and participate in collaboration with local society. The collaboration assignment applies both in educational and in research contexts. In the context of education, the main objective is to ensure the relevance of the education to working life and to create the conditions for lifelong learning. In the context of research, the collaboration assignment applies mainly through disseminating, making available and utilising research.The employment may also involve administrative duties, such as environmental questions. We also encourage you to participate in and show interest in management duties.Your work includes monitoring developments nationally and internationally within your field of study and other societal developments that are important to your work.You are flexible and have the ability to move between different types of pedagogical and scientific contexts. You share knowledge and contribute to the working group’s professional development, collegial ways of working and social community. The fact that you are present and active is something we see as self-evident in order to ensure that you are able to perform your duties in an optimum way and enjoy your working community.QualificationsWe are looking for a candidate who has received a doctoral degree or has equivalent academic expertise, and has demonstrated pedagogical expertise or other professional skills that are of significance with consideration for the subject and duties relevant to the appointment and duties.For this employment special emphasis is placed in academic expertise followed by pedagogical expertise and other proficiencies which are judged to be equivalent to each otherIn terms of academic expertise, the following will be assessed: (linked to the work duties above)
- Requirements for the position is previous experience in research within materials science
- Of particular merit for the position is that you hold a docent title in a field relevant to the position.
- Of particular merit for the position is previous experience in research within battery materials and electrochemistry
In terms of pedagogical expertise, the following will be assessed:
- Requirements for the position is previous experience in supervising students and teaching at an advanced level.
- Of particular merit for the position is previous experience in supervision and teaching within the field of energy storage and electrochemistry.
