DLSM is coordinating all teaching programmes in the life sciences, medicine, nursing and midwifery. The University of Luxembourg has set a strategic focus on medicine and health and is actively developing the training and research areas in these domains, creating exceptional opportunities in medical and biomedical initiatives.Your roleMedical and health sciences education at the University of Luxembourg are rapidly growing and are strategic areas of development for both the University and the government of Luxembourg. To effectively foster high quality teaching within the recently created study programmes, namely a bachelor in medicine, several nursing sciences programmes as well as midwifery, the University of Luxembourg is recruiting for the Faculty of Science, Technology and Medicine (FSTM) a Associate Professor (promotion track) or Full Professor in Medical Imaging.The Faculty of Science, Technology, and Medicine at the University of Luxembourg strives for excellence in the education and research of medicine, biomedical sciences and allied health professions. In 2023, the University launched four bachelor programmes in specialized nursing sciences in the fields of surgery, anaesthesia/resuscitation, paediatrics, and mental health. A fifth programme ‘Bachelor of Nursing in General Care’ started in September 2024, while two more bachelors programmes – Midwifery and radiographer/clinical imaging – are set to commence in September 2025. These programmes are organized by combining theoretical training as well as simulations using the latest technology with practical training in hospitals, outpatient clinics and care centres, in collaboration with various institutions in the country and abroad.Due to the expansion of educational and research programmes in medicine and health professions, we are now recruiting a professor in medical imaging to further strengthen education and research efforts. The candidate may have a focus on clinical (neuro)radiology or medical imaging technologies with expertise in neuro-imaging.The professor will be appointed to the university on a full-time basis and will have a leadership role in building and coordinating the training of radiographers/experts in medical imaging technologies. The academic position will have responsibilities split between teaching and research, with an initial focus on teaching. Involvement in professional clinical activity can be considered.Teaching portfolio: The holder of this position is expected to build, direct, and teach in the Bachelor’s programme in medical imaging technologies and related fields. He/she will be involved in the selection of students, the establishment of the training plan for radiographers, the organisation of theoretical and practical teaching, the evaluation of programmes, in close cooperation with the teachers and tutors of the clinical placements. These efforts will be based on the collaborative and joint work of professors, teachers and researchers from the different health programmes of the university, including medicine, biology, midwifery, and nursing as well as computer sciences.Research portfolio: The holder of this position is expected to develop research according to the candidate’s interest with a focus on neuro-imaging, in collaboration with internal partners from the various Faculties and Interdisciplinary Centres, as well as with national and international partners.Contact: Professor Paul Heuschling, Special advisor for medical education and health professions.   • A radiographer or radiologist degree with strong experience in all medical imaging modalities
  • A doctorate (MD or PhD) in a relevant scientific discipline and at least five (5) years of professional experience after the doctorate
  • Extensive field experience in radiography or radiology teaching, including theoretical teaching and supervision of trainees
  • Proficiency in contemporary pedagogical practices. Experience in curriculum design and directing of educational programmes at the university level
  • Internationally recognized research track record as evidenced by international publications in the field of clinical neuro-imaging, public health or related fields
  • Advanced administrative and management experience
  • Established networks and connections to clinical imaging departments in international universities and European medical imaging societies
  • Open and collaborative mindset, ability to work in a team, and to foster a positive working environment
  • Strong leadership and mentoring qualities, including supervision of PhD students
  • Independent, solution-oriented, and creative
  • Commitment to work with students and deliver high-quality teaching
