We supercharge our customers to innovate in hyperscaler cloud, enabling seamless migration, advanced security, and data-driven success.Currently, we are looking for a Database Reliability Engineer to join our team in Finland.Your daily responsibilities:

• Collaborative Platform Setup: Working alongside our cloud architects and developers, as well as our customers’ teams, to establish reliable data platforms in the public cloud. This involves utilizing common, repeatable tools and processes to ensure efficient delivery.

• Understanding Data Architecture: Gaining a thorough understanding of our customers’ data architectures, including rational databases, data analytics, and data warehousing. Using this knowledge to accurately define their data infrastructure requirements.

• Infrastructure Design and Development: Responding to identified needs by designing and developing appropriate tools and processes that will enhance data infrastructure efficiency and effectiveness.

• Performance and Availability Management: Defining key performance metrics and availability targets for our customers’ live data platforms. Ensuring the health of databases by implementing strategies for data recovery, deployment, security, visibility, capacity planning, and performance tuning.

• Cloud DBA Services: Providing expert Cloud Database Administration (DBA) services to customers, assisting with debugging queries and optimizing database operations.

• Occasional traveling in Finland or Europe may be an option, depending on the assignment and your preferences.

Your key skills:

• Demonstrated expertise in managing databases in AWS and/or Azure environment
• Demonstrated expertise in managing databases in on-prem environment
• Relevant database certification such as Azure Database Administrator Associate or readiness to take one
• Fluent communication skills in English and Finnish

Skills we’d consider a plus:

• Ability to design and implement high availability and disaster recovery solutions for MS SQL Server databases

• Experience in high-security and/or classified data environments

• Proficiency with database technologies, such as PostgreSQL, MySQL/MariaDB, NoSQL databases, Oracle, Sybase ASE, or IBM Db2 for Linux, UNIX, and Windows

• Programming and scripting skills in PowerShell, Bash, Python

• Experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform or Ansible

• Familiarity with major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud)

• Hands-on experience with Data Warehouses and columnar databases
