In this role, you will design, develop, and optimize battery systems for heavy-duty applications, ensuring performance, safety, and efficiency.FEV Sverige AB is a member of the FEV Group and active on the Scandinavian market since 2006. We are located in Gothenburg and Stockholm.As a Battery System Engineer – Commercial Vehicles, you will have the following responsibilities:

• Lead the development and integration of battery systems for commercial vehicles.
• Ensure compliance with safety, performance, and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize battery design and vehicle integration.
• Conduct simulations, testing, and validation of battery systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve battery-related issues in prototype and production vehicles.
• Evaluate new technologies and materials for next-generation battery solutions.
• Work with suppliers to ensure battery system quality and performance.
• Support certification and homologation processes for battery systems.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation and reports.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.

Key skills and qualifications:

• 7+ years of experience in the technical field, with a focus on battery systems.
• Mandatory minimun 4 years experience from heavy duty commercial vehicles.
• Experience working with commercial vehicles and understanding of their unique challenges.
• Strong knowledge of lithium-ion battery technology, cell chemistry, and battery management systems (BMS).
• Proficiency in battery system modeling, simulation, and testing.
• Familiarity with thermal management and safety design for high-voltage battery packs.
• Experience with CAN communication protocols and vehicle integration.
• Understanding of ISO 26262 (Functional Safety) and related industry standards.
• Ability to analyze battery performance, degradation, and lifecycle.
• Hands-on experience with battery pack design, validation, and failure analysis.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
