Do you want to help make a difference for families with children in Tønder Municipality? And support the volunteers who are passionate about the same thing? Then it’s YOU we’re looking for!A large part of the families we meet at the Red Cross experience many and complex challenges in their everyday lives. That is why the Red Cross in Skærbæk has started the initiative Volunteer Family Friends, which is intended to support local families with children who are in a vulnerable life situation. As an activity leader, you are the leader of volunteers throughout Tønder Municipality, but based in the Skærbæk branch.About Volunteer Family Friends
Volunteer Family Friends is an activity where a volunteer provides individual support to a family with children in a socially vulnerable life situation – usually for a minimum of one year. The support is based on the family’s needs and resources, and can cover everything from children and family life, structure and conflicts at home, homework and schooling, attending meetings with the municipality, building bridges to the opportunities of the local community or simply a fellow human being who comes and listens.” Life had almost come to a standstill. Today I am less stressed and can handle the other challenges of everyday life. It also means that mother has more energy to be something for her son ” – participant in Voluntary Family Friends.We are looking for you who:
- Want a meaningful volunteer job
- Likes to lead and distribute
- Who has a certain amount of life experience and impact
- Will be responsible for matching volunteers and families in a vulnerable situation
- Will be the contact person between volunteers, partners and the Red Cross’ National Office
- Welcome new volunteers and prepare them well for the task
- Is good at collaborating and organizing
- Can dedicate 2-3 hours per week
