Job Description:EXL is seeking a dynamic Business Analyst with a strong foundation in insurance analytics and product ownership mindset. In this role, you will act as the key liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams. You will gather and refine business requirements, translate them into actionable user stories and project plans, and help drive the development of analytics solutions that deliver measurable business value.Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with underwriters, operations, product teams, and data scientists to understand business objectives and pain points.
- Analyse and articulate detailed business and technical requirements.
- Define, prioritize, and maintain the product backlog, writing epics and user stories with clear acceptance criteria.
- Create and manage project plans with timelines, dependencies, and milestones.
- Serve as a bridge between business and development teams-translating goals into implementation-ready specifications.
Skills and experience:
- 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Product Owner, or similar hybrid role in a data or analytics environment.
- Proven experience in insurance or financial services, with deep understanding of the insurance analytics lifecycle (underwriting, claims, etc.).
- Strong working knowledge of SQL for data exploration and validation.
- Familiarity with BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) and how stakeholders consume insights from dashboards.
- Exposure to DevOps workflows and experience contributing to epics/features/stories.
- Comfortable with agile/scrum methodologies and cross-functional delivery teams.
