Job Description:About your roleWe are looking for a Business Continuity Management process owner for a permanent position. The purpose of the Business Continuity Management process owner role is to ensure the effective coordination and implementation of business continuity activities within Orion. This role is essential for maintaining the company’s resilience by managing business continuity processes, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. The role aligns with Orion’s goals by safeguarding the company’s operations and enhancing its ability to respond to disruptions, thereby supporting overall business stability and continuity.In this full-time permanent role you will report to the Director of Strategic Planning & Risk Management within Orion’s Finance & Strategy function. While you don’t have a team reporting directly to you, the role requires extensive coordination and collaboration across the whole organisation in cooperation with stakeholders in the corporate top management, business divisions, and corporate level functions (e.g. Global Operations, R&D, Finance, Compliance, Corporate Sustainability, Legal, etc.). Many of these stakeholders reside in the Orion Headquarters as well as the adjacent R&D Center and Factory in Espoo, Finland. However, as Orion’s business and operations also have a significant and expanding footprint in Europe, Asia Pacific, and USA, there is also an international dimension in this role.Therefore, the main location for the role is in Orion’s Headquarter in Espoo, but the field of work extends to all of Orion’s operations, as described above, and may require some travelling from time to time. In this role you will be working in accordance with Orion’s hybrid working model. Orion Group uses a routine of 3:2 – which means at least three office days combined with a maximum of two remote days per week. This guidance seeks to ensure:

Your key responsibilitiesYour key responsibilities as Business Continuity Management (BCM) process owner:

  • Business Continuity Management Process ownership in accordance with Orion’s policies and strandard operating procedures.
  • Coordination of the Orion business continuity management activities and instructions.
  • Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of business continuity management.
  • Communicating business continuity policies, procedures, and expectations to employees and stakeholders.
  • Securing that Orion business continuity management fulfills legal, regulatory and contractual requirements.
  • Maintenance and development of the yearly business continuity activity roadmap and reporting of it to the Orion Executive Team.
  • Assistance to Business Division leads in conducting risk assessments and identifying processes / functions that contain critical business continuity risks and directing those to the Business Continuity Management process.
  • Coordination of Orion’s Risk Management Network assistance and support to the respective the Business Division leads or Business process / function owners in business continuity activities.
  • Assistance to Business process / function owners in creating business continuity plans.
  • Managing the needed modifications to Thinking Portfolio risk management system.

Risk Management – manager

  • Providing operative support to Orion’s Risk Management Network as the 2nd defense line supporting businesses and functions (= 1st defense line) in maintaining the up-to-date risk register in the Thinking Portfolio risk management system.
  • Key user/administrator of the Thinking Portfolio risk management system.
  • Continuous networking, benchmarking and follow-up of risk management environment and knowledge.
  • Promoting organization-wide understanding about risks and risk management strategies.
  • Consultation and coaching in the area of risk management.

You are a strategic and analytical thinker and possess strong business acumen and financial understanding.You have the following professional work experience and education:

  • Concrete experience (preferably several years) in the field business continuity management and risk management.
  • Experience on leading/participating/developing processes and leading the required change within organizations
  • Professional proficiency in English (verbal and writing)
  • Development mindset and high energy level
  • Possess dynamic communication skills
  • Solution oriented, able to apply critical thinking skills to solve problems
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships in a cross-functional environment
  • University degree, for example in the field of industrial management/economy

The strategic planning function is responsible for leading, guiding and supporting the business divisions and corporate level functions with their strategy planning as well as coordinating the Orion Group level strategic roadmap. This involves providing a clear structure for the annual strategic planning process including also guidance and support for compiling the corporate level strategic financials.Risk management is an integral part of the day-to-day management processes and the Corporate Governance of the Orion Group and it complies with the principles of good governance and the recommendations and regulations issued to listed companies. The primary purpose of risk management is to identify, measure and manage the risks that may threaten the company’s operations and the achievement of the set goals by using the available resources, thus ensuring business continuity. The ownership of risk management process resides at the Strategic Planning & Risk Management function, but risk management is the responsibility of every Orion employee and must be a part of the normal daily work at all levels of the organization.
