Short DescriptionSAS is in an expansion phase, offering a unique opportunity to contribute to the company’s growth.. As a Business Controller within SAS Airline Services you will join a team of 8 controllers. You will report directly to the Head of Business Control and work closely with colleagues across the team and with various stakeholders from departments outside Finance.PurposeIn this role, you will support the business in achieving strategic and tactical goals, optimize resources, and enhance cost-efficiency through various projects and development initiatives. Your responsibilities will include both short-term financial planning (within the budget year) and long-term projects aimed at strengthening our competitiveness.You will also play a key role in presenting business performance and developments in a clear and accessible way. Driving business case development and ensuring the progress of cost-saving initiatives, upgrade reporting systems and tools to enhance operational monitoring and decision-making.Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the business leadership team on financial development, reporting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Lead the forecasting and budgeting processes for the business unit.
  • Design and refine key performance indicators, decision-making frameworks, and profitability analyses.
  • Oversee and support initiatives to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Provide benchmarking and analytical insights to aid in negotiations and decision-making.
  • Optimize reporting systems and tools to enhance operational monitoring and decision-making.
  • Train and support managers to deepen their financial expertise and improve oversight.

ExperienceAs the ideal candidate for this role, you have:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Business Control or a similar role, such as consulting or “Big 4” experience.
  • Proven expertise in stakeholder management and collaborating with senior leaders.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, operational environment with multiple points of contact.
  • Strong integrity and the ability to question, engage, and contribute valuable insights to business operations.
  • A university degree in finance, economics, or a related field (minimum Bachelor’s level).
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and BI tools (e.g., Power BI).
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English; a Scandinavian language is highly desirable but not mandatory.
