In the role of Business Controller, you will have a central function in controlling, analysing, and reporting on the company’s operating and salary costs. You will work closely with the finance and other departments to ensure effective cost control and high data quality, and that ABAX achieves its financial goals. This is an exciting opportunity for those who want to develop themselves in business management and finance.We’re looking for an analytical, detail-oriented problem-solver who proactively identifies improvements, collaborates effectively across teams, and excels at organizing tasks and meeting deadlines.Some of the things you will be working on:
- Analysing and reporting: Responsible for monthly follow-up and reporting on operating costs, including analysis of deviations against budgets and forecasts.
- Payroll Costs: Monitoring and analysing labour costs across the organization, including fixed salary, bonus schemes, vacation pay, and other variable costs.
- Budgeting and forecasting: Help create and maintain budgets, as well as participate in regular forecast updates.
- Cost Efficiency: Identify opportunities for cost savings within OPEX and payroll, and provide cost-efficiency recommendations to management.
- Supporting management: Deliver decision support through clear and easy-to-understand financial information, and contribute to strategic planning and management.
- Quality assurance: Ensure that financial data and reporting are accurate and compliant with internal and external requirements.
We believe you bring:
- Higher education in economics, finance, or related disciplines, but relevant experience is highly valuable and can compensate.
- . Experience with OPEX and labour costs is an advantage.
- Good knowledge of accounting, budget processes, and financial reporting.
- Experience with financial systems and good expertise in Excel. Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g. Microsoft Business Central) is an advantage.
- Good communication skills, both in Norwegian and English.
