Your expertise will drive the selection, negotiation, and acquisition of products that not only meet but exceed our customers’ expectations. You will collaborate closely with both our suppliers and internal teams to ensure that we consistently offer high-quality products at competitive prices, thereby reinforcing our market position and fuelling our growth.Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive buying strategies that align with our overarching company objectives, ensuring that our product offerings are competitive and profitable.
- Supplier Relationships: Identify, cultivate, and manage relationships with a diverse range of suppliers, securing the best deals and fostering long-term partnerships that benefit both parties.
- Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market research and continuously monitor industry trends to make informed purchasing decisions that keep us ahead of the competition.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with sales, marketing, and operations teams to ensure product availability aligns with demand forecasts and promotional strategies, driving sales and customer satisfaction.
- Contract Negotiation: Lead negotiations with suppliers, focusing on securing favourable contract terms that balance cost, quality, and delivery timelines.
- Inventory Management: Oversee inventory levels and manage the replenishment process to maintain optimal stock levels, minimising both overstock and stockouts.
- Sales Data Analysis: Regularly analyse sales data to assess the performance of products and adjust buying strategies accordingly, ensuring that our inventory reflects consumer preferences and maximises profitability.
- Team Leadership: Mentor and support junior buyers, fostering their professional growth and ensuring that the entire team contributes effectively to our procurement goals.
Qualifications: • Experience: A proven track record as a Buyer, with significant experience in the retail or discount sector.
- Negotiation Skills: Strong negotiation skills, coupled with excellent communication abilities, enabling you to secure the best deals and maintain positive supplier relationships.
- Analytical Abilities: Exceptional analytical and decision-making skills, with a sharp eye for detail and the ability to interpret complex data to drive purchasing decisions.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in procurement and inventory management software, enabling you to efficiently manage the buying process and optimise inventory levels.
