We are welcoming applications for a Buying & Merchandising Assistant within our Homeware & Lifestyle category.This role will support the Buying functions in delivering the budgeted KPIs for the relevant group or department. The role will predominantly involve providing administrative support to the buying team and maintaining strong relationships with internal departments as well as external contacts. Support the buyers, communication with suppliers, raising and processing orders, sample requests, monitoring delivery schedule. This role provides administrative support to ensure smooth and effective running of the buying category.To manage the product data capture / Purchase order entry for the department in conjunction with the Buyer and Assistant BuyerTo ensure that initial purchases and allocations are correct, and to ensure accuracy and maintenance to achieve the budgeted sales, margin and stock objectivesTo manage continuity orders in conjunction with the Buyer and Assistant BuyerMaintain the system in respect of cost price, selling price and currency changesCoordinate the supply chain from vendor to warehouse and into storeDevelop close relationships with Suppliers and internal stakeholders such as Retail Operations, Logistics & Finance teamsTo help determine the replenishment parameters for supplier to warehouse/store and in conjunction with sales floor display stocks and review with the Buyer and Assistant BuyerTo set up promotions in conjunction with the Buyer, Retail Operations & Marketing teamsTo assist the Buyer in reporting for the departmentTo keep up to date with trends and competitors in the marketplace for the relevant group/department and all adjacent categoriesCollaborate with the Digital team, working closely with them on range presentation online and driving salesKNOW WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FORA qualification in buying/merchandisingAdvanced level in excel this is essential to applying for this role, with a strong mind set to analyticsDisciplined and organised with the ability to work in a fast-paced environmentEnergetic, enthusiastic and not afraid of hard workGood time management with the ability to prioritise tasksEffective influencing skills and the ability to work comfortably with various levels and departmentsKNOW WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOUWe believe that every team member should have the opportunity to a meaningful career that enhances professional and personal development.
