Job Description:This role is a key management position reporting locally to the CEO of SI and functionally to the Group Head of Reporting and will participate fully in supporting the Group Finance function. The CFO will also be responsible for working with a broad range of stakeholders, including the Board, internal and external clients, the CBI and other regulators, as well as other parts of the SCOR Group.Responsibilities:Duties to fulfil this role include:
- Lead the relevant teams to ensure key financial reporting requirements are met:
- Appropriate processes and policies are in place for both Solvency II and Irish Companies Act reporting (IFRS17) purposes and to ensure timely production of all relevant regulatory and legal reporting requirements, including the calculation and review of actuarial reserves.
- Timely production of all Group financial reporting requirements including the actuarial reserves and related documentation in compliance with the Group timetable and the Group accounting standards (IFRS).
- Accurate IFRS and statutory investment accounting, including; asset classification policy, reconciliation of asset portfolios, reviewing any potential impairment issues, etc.
- Manage the ongoing financial activity of SI:
- Provision of management information to manage the business day-to-day
- Preparing financial business plans – including solvency, capital and dividend planning
- Tax compliance, planning and advice as necessary
- Financial input to large and/or special deals
- Oversight of collateral processes and activity of SI
- Management of relevant treasury activities subject to defined Group policies
- Periodic performance reviews of the management of SI’s invested assets with Group teams
- Drive process improvement and operational efficiencies through the strategic implementation of automation technologies and innovative solutions
- Provide necessary business partnering support to the SI CEO in developing new business opportunities
- Act as the main financial business partner to the SI Board and local management including:
- Advising the SI Board on all finance, tax and actuarial valuation related maters
- Participating in any local Committees that require financial input.
- Ensuring that all local statutory, regulatory and tax filing requirements are carried out to the appropriate standards and deadlines.
- Oversight and management of the SI cashflow activity and ongoing engagement with the Risk Function in relation to the review and management of the SI liquidity position ensuring SI’s ability to pay liabilities as and when due.
- Proactively engage with the SI CEO, Risk Function, Board, SIP and Group in relation to investment strategies and the optimal investment of assets to minimise volatility on a regulatory and IFRS basis.
- Play an active role in relevant reserving governance and financial oversight committees.
- Chair the P&C Reserving Committee
Qualifications:Ideal Experience:
- Previous experience at CFO level (or in an equivalent senior financial role) in a significant financial services business – preferably in the insurance / reinsurance sector.
- Experience in managing and motivating teams of Actuaries and Accountants in a complex business environment.
- Experience of operating at Board level and liaising with the CBI, or equivalent regulator.

- Excellent interpersonal skills to quickly develop good working relationships both locally and throughout the SCOR group.
- Strong aptitude, with ability to quickly bring existing skills and knowledge to bear on new challenges.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain highly technical and complex issues to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Excellent leadership skills to lead, motivate, and develop teams of professionally qualified Accountants and Actuaries, meeting the needs of the local business and providing a source of talent for the wider SCOR Group
- Highly organised with the ability to manage and report on multiple and competing priorities and to meet deadlines.
- Results driven.
- A passion to lead by example when it comes to producing deliverables of highest quality, with an emphasis on structured presentation and attention to detail.
