This is an opportunity to join the Complications Research Group at Steno Diabetes Center Copenhagen (SDCC).About the Complications Research Group
The Complications research group is headed by Prof. Peter Rossing and currently involves 30 members (7 Senior Researchers (5 Clinicians, 1 Data Scientist and 1 Epidemiologist), Post Docs, PhD students, Masters students, bioanalytical staff, and nurses). We conduct clinical drug intervention, clinical biomarker & disease pathway discovery, and risk prediction studies in Diabetes Complications (micro and macrovascular). We also lead and partner in consortia focusing diabetic complications in the heart, kidney, eyes, nerves, and foot, associated metabolic traits (relating liver, brain, and lifestyle), and response to therapy. We also have access to Omics data profiling in multiple clinical cohorts. Our vision is to be able to integrate these data to develop tools helpful in clinical decision-making (personalized medicine) and, also to discover novel disease and drug effect mechanisms.About the Project
The current project involves availability of multi-Omics (metabolomics, and lipidomics) data on different cohorts based in Denmark with information on brain health. The project involves Data quality control, data analyses, and interpretation, using epidemiological/data science/bioinformatics/machine learning tools. Joining our group, you will become a central part of a multiomics research project, where we will focus on biomarkers and drug discovery under the supervision of Cristina Legido Quigley, Senior Scientific Consultant and Senior Researcher Tarun Veer Singh Ahluwalia.The Position
You are expected to lead the project and contribute to dissemination of results. You will work with a quality mindset for creating reproducible research for the benefit of the patient. We are looking for an ambitious individual that will be an active member of the project team, with:

• Expertise in working with Omics in a Clinical Department (metabolomics and lipidomics/or proteomics)
• Proven record of publications in the field of omics and clinical data integration
• Ease of working with R or Python, Bash etc.
• PhD in lipidomics or metabolomics, bioinformatics, computational biology, data science or another relevant field
