Job Opportunity: Company AccountantRole Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Accountant to oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of our client’s finance department. This role requires a proactive individual with strong organisational skills, exceptional attention to detail, and a solid understanding of accounting processes.Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily banking activities, record transactions, and manage monthly bank reconciliations.
- Process and file purchase and expense invoices, handle supplier payments, and reconcile accounts monthly.
- Assist in preparing year-end draft management accounts.
- Manage sales invoicing, customer statements, and overdue account follow-ups.
- Monitor stock adjustments, ensuring accurate monthly postings to the ledger.
- Prepare and file bi-monthly VAT returns and maintain compliance with relevant tax regulations.
- Execute payroll processing on a weekly, fortnightly, and monthly basis, ensuring timely tax submissions.
- Maintain and update financial records in line with company and regulatory standards.
Qualifications:
- Recognised Accounting qualification – ACCA, ACA, CPA, CIMA or qualified by experience.
- Strong background in Accounting within the SME sector.
- Experienced working with small teams.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with non-financial stakeholders.
