A prestigious international law firm is seeking a talented junior to mid-level Competition Associate to join its highly regarded Brussels practice. Renowned for advising on some of the world’s most complex and high-profile antitrust matters, the team offers immediate exposure to a diverse caseload spanning merger control, cartel investigations, abuse of dominance, and broader regulatory issues.Associates are encouraged to maintain a varied and hands-on practice, fostering close client engagement and a deep understanding of commercial drivers. Approximately half of the role will focus on merger control work, with the balance involving EU competition investigations, state aid, public procurement, and regulatory litigation. The team works seamlessly with colleagues across the firm’s corporate, disputes, and IP groups to provide integrated, cross-disciplinary advice.Candidate Requirements:
- Qualified in a European jurisdiction
- Minimum of 1yrs PQE +
- Solid experience in EU competition law (private practice or in-house)
- Strong academic background with excellent legal analysis and drafting skills
- Confident communicator with the ability to navigate complex legal and commercial issues
- A collaborative, proactive mindset and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Language skills are highly advantageous
