Construction Logistics Health & Safety Manager to lead and manage all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) matters associated with logistics operations on a major hyperscale data centre projectTyön kuvaus:We are seeking a safety-driven and proactive Construction Logistics Health & Safety Manager to lead and manage all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) matters associated with logistics operations on a major hyperscale data centre project in Hamina, Finland. The successful candidate will ensure that all logistics activitiesincluding traffic management, delivery coordination, crane operations, access control, waste handling, and material movementsare conducted safely, legally, and efficiently in line with Finnish regulations and international best practices.Key Responsibilities:
Logistics Safety Planning & Implementation:
Lead HSE planning for all logistics and site support activities including:
Site access/egress and security zones
Vehicle and pedestrian segregation
Waste and material handling
Hoisting and lifting operations
Welfare and laydown areas
Coordinate with the logistics team to develop and enforce safety procedures and protocols aligned with the Finnish Occupational Safety and Health Act (738/2002).Team Coordination & Oversight:
Manage HSE performance of all logistics personnel and subcontractors, including traffic marshals, security, crane crews, and delivery gate staff.
Ensure team members are trained and hold valid certifications (e.g., Työturvallisuuskortti, Tulityökortti, First Aid).
Deliver logistics-focused toolbox talks, safety briefings, and induction training.Site Safety Monitoring:
Conduct daily site inspections of logistics operations to ensure safe systems of work.
Enforce vehicle movement plans, delivery schedules, and lifting plans with appropriate signage and controls.
Investigate and report logistics-related incidents and near misses, implementing corrective and preventative actions.
Compliance, Permits & Reporting:
Ensure proper permitting and compliance for temporary works, hot works, and lifting activities.
Maintain and produce documentation of inspections, RAMS, safety observations, and incident reports.
Produce regular reports for the HSE lead and project management team on logistics-related safety KPIs.
Stakeholder Coordination:
Liaise closely with main contractor, logistics providers, subcontractors, and the clients safety representatives.
Support and participate in safety audits, logistics planning meetings, and emergency preparedness drills.Qualifications & Experience:
NEBOSH Certificate, European/Nordic safety qualification, or equivalent.
Minimum 5+ years experience in construction HSE roles, with at least 2+ years in logistics, cranes, or site services.
Proven ability to manage HSE compliance on high-volume construction sites (data centres, infrastructure, or industrial).
Knowledge of Finnish construction laws and environmental health & safety regulations.Desirable:
Valid Työturvallisuuskortti (Occupational Safety Card) mandatory for site access.
Valid Tulityökortti (Hot Work Permit) and Emergency First Aid training preferred.
Familiarity with logistics systems and tools.
Previous experience working in Finland or Nordic countries.
Fluency in English is required; Finnish is a strong advantage.Key Competencies:
