A clinical position as consultant of psychiatry or senior researcher at the Mental Health Center Copenhagen at Copenhagen University Hospital, Mental Health Services in the Capital Region is open for appointment from as soon as possible.The position is combined with a 10-year externally funded position as clinical professor of cognitive neuropsychiatry at the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Copenhagen.It is a requirement that the applicant is accepted for appointment of both the professorship and the clinical position.The advertisement for the professorship is available from the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Copenhagen via orAbout the departmentMental Health Center Copenhagen is Denmark’s largest psychiatric Center with large numbers of general and specialized offers. The Center is known to be at the forefront of new treatment options that originate from the recognized research conducted in the Center.Mental Health Center Copenhagen has more than 1300 employees and currently 253 beds.The Center examines and treats adult psychiatric patients in the general psychiatric areas and covers large parts of Copenhagen and Frederiksberg municipality. This corresponds to an intake area of approx. 430,000 citizens. The Center is organizationally located in the Mental Health Services in the Capital Region of Denmark, and geographically located at Bispebjerg Hospital, Gentofte Hospital and Frederiksberg Hospital, as well as in smaller units around the local area.The research network at the Mental Health Center Copenhagen is expansive with 9 professors and more than 100 researchers covering a broad area of research and is closely linked to clinic and competence development.Clinical functions and focus areas of the departmentThe clinical function is based in the Outpatient Clinic for Affective Disorders at Psychiatric Center Copenhagen, which serves as a regional function for affective disorders serving the entire mental Health Services in the Capital Region of Denmark.The clinical functions include the implementation of evidence-based strategies for screening cognitive difficulties and vulnerabilities in patients with affective disorders, including during pregnancy, as well as the training and supervision of the outpatient clinic’s staff. Additionally, tasks will include implementation of and teaching in evidence-based strategies for screening cognitive difficulties in relation to other patient groups across the center.Research and teachingWith the new position as clinical professor of cognitive neuropsychiatry, the Mental Health Centre Copenhagen wishes to strengthen leadership in clinical research and teaching.QualificationsConsultant applicants must be board-certified specialists in Psychiatry.Senior Researcher applicants must be specialists in Psychology.ConditionsIn order to be considered, the applicant must send an application to both the Faculty (the professorship) and to the hospital (the clinical position) cf. the simultaneously advertised position of the professorship. Appointment is conditioned by the fact that the applicant obtains both positions. This also applies to the applicants who are already employed as consultants or senior researchers at the Mental Health services in the Capital Region.Salary and conditions of employment as consultant are as agreed between the Danish Regions and the Danish Association of Medical Specialists and between the Capital Region/Region Zealand and University of Copenhagen.As clinical professor at least 50 % of the working time will be allocated to academic tasks (e.g., research, teaching, evaluation tasks and communication with the public) in agreement with the Head of Department of Department of Clinical Medicine at the University of Copenhagen. The remaining time will be allocated for clinical work in agreement with the head of Mental Health Centre Copenhagen, Copenhagen University Hospital – the Mental Health Services in the Capital Region. The clinical professor will receive secretarial or technical support equivalent to 50 % of a fulltime secretary position from Psychiatric Center Copenhagen, Copenhagen University Hospital – The Mental Health Services.
