Our core business is to work on the ground to build bridges into space, contributing to the success of ambitious missions.The European Space Agency is our biggest client and we provide highly qualified employees to many sites of ESA but mainly for ESTEC in the Netherlands, and we provide a permanent contract with great benefits, a good salary, a relocation package along with genuine support to our employees.On behalf of the European Space Agency, we are looking for A highly skilled Copernicus Contributing Missions Technical & Operations Support Engineer to work remotely in ESA.What is expected from you:The candidate shall support as CCM Technical & Operations Support Engineer and he/she will play a key role in supporting the operational excellence, technical integration, and evolution of the Copernicus Contributing Missions (CCM) system under ESA’s coordination. This includes supporting end-to-end service operations, onboarding and monitoring of Category-2/3 data providers, and providing technical expertise for anomaly resolution, data access infrastructure, and performance monitoring.

  • Monitor operational activities (user registration, order management, etc.) and validate adherence to requirements and SLAs.
  • Analyse service performance dashboards and reports; provide feedback to ESA on system improvements.
  • Coordinate and provide input to monthly progress and bi-annual service review meetings.
  • Liaise with user support desks and escalate critical operational issues to ESA.
  • Produce monthly operational reports including analysis of feedback and proposals for improvements
  • Supervise integration of new data providers or missions into the CCM RRD ensuring standardised, API-compliant interfaces.
  • Coordinate progress meetings, validate on-boarding plans and Service Readiness Review (SRR) inputs.
  • Review technical validation plans and oversee resolution of integration issues.
  • Support operational readiness through collaboration with the CCM interface desk
  • Supervise integration of new data providers or missions into the CCM RRD ensuring standardised, API-compliant interfaces.
  • Coordinate progress meetings, validate on-boarding plans and Service Readiness Review (SRR) inputs.
  • Review technical validation plans and oversee resolution of integration issues.
  • Support operational readiness through collaboration with the CCM interface desk
  • Evaluate user-friendliness and technical readiness of Category-1 data access platforms.
  • Provide non-binding technical guidance on interfaces and catalogue services in coordination with the CDSE and CCM RRD teams.
  • Review technical documentation and ensure alignment with operational expectations
  • Develop or operate independent monitoring tools to track performance of Category-2/3 data providers and CCM RRD.
  • Organise technical review meetings with ESA, data providers, and Copernicus Services
  • Assess and validate provider progress reports and service KPIs, in coordination with CCM RRD reporting.
  • Support analysis of data consumption trends to advise on quota use and system adjustments

What is expected from you:

  • MSc or PhD in Aerospace Engineering, Earth Observation, Remote Sensing, Computer Science, or related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in EO systems operations, data service engineering, or service management.
  • Knowledge of Copernicus programme, satellite data services, and SLA-based operations.
  • Experience in service integration and operational interfaces (e.g., API-based data systems).
  • Familiarity with tools for anomaly tracking (e.g., Zendesk, JIRA) and performance monitoring in Aerospace Engineering, Earth Observation, Remote Sensing, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken) required
