Duties and responsibilitiesThe operator of the galley and provision rooms, including proper cleaning/hygiene in accordance with applicable procedures/instructions, and co-responsible for the operation of all catering premises associated with the galleySupervisor of galley employees and ensure efficient and economical utilization of available resourcesCo-responsible for provisioning according to pre-prepared menu planning, incl. quantity calculationGoods orders in cooperation with the warehouse managerResponsible for inspection of all food delivered to the ship with regard to shelf life, temperature, packaging and quality in accordance with applicable procedures/instructionsDietary manager for a professionally correct and varied dietCo-responsible for supervision and maintenance of galley equipment, including provision roomsBudget manager within your area of workResponsible for training galley personnelResponsible for ensuring that instructions in the manual for warehouse management system are followed up in the galleyResponsible for ensuring that the ship’s operational and safety management systems, including HACCP routines, are followed up within the area of responsibilityCheck that work and rest time registrations for employees in the galley are kept correctlyEnsure that the company’s standard conditions for service and quality are met Qualifications/ExperienceCertificate of apprenticeship as a cookRelevant experience with management and kitchen operationsQuality consciousGood knowledge of HACCP and food safety managementMust be fluent in Norwegian and English and knowledge of GermanPersonal suitability will be emphasizedHurtigruten set high demands for safety on board, which means that all employees must have; Basic safety course for seafarers, Crowd and Crisis course, and approved health certificate from authorized seafarer doctor.
