Founded in 2009, we have evolved from a Norwegian brand incubator to a global brand accelerator with a strong international footprint …We are seeking an experienced Data Architect to lead our data initiatives and drive the transformation of Active Brands into a data-driven organization. The role is central to shaping our data and business strategy, building our data warehouse, and delivering actionable insights across our portfolio of brands. You will report to the CFO, and drive one of the most important projects within Active Brands.Systems and data for the brands in Active Brands are currently loosely connected to each other. This creates challenges in gaining an overview across the brands. We want to build a central data platform and are looking for a person who can help us gain better insight and overview. Some examples of insights we hope to gain through a central data platform could be:
– The effectiveness of marketing campaigns
– Which products, categories, and colors are trending
– Which stores and store chains are driving profits
– Which pricing strategy should we choose
– What to order for next season that meets trends and demand in the marketIn addition to this role, we are considering hiring a data engineer or a BI developer who will report to you. There will be room to use consultants and other third parties on an hourly basis to help us build the data platform.The role requires a good understanding of organizational structures. You will work against leaders in each brand, marketing, purchasing, the leadership team, and several others. Change management and adoption of data to drive decisions will fall under this role.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement a scalable data architecture strategy aligned with business objectivesBuild robust ETL/ELT processes to consolidate and ensure the quality of data from various sourcesCreate and maintain Power BI dashboards providing insights into trends, profitability, and performanceWork with leadership and brand managers to identify key data needs and sourcesPrioritize use cases to gradually build a data platform tailored to organizational needsPromote data-driven decision-making and drive adoption of BI tools across the organizationLead and mentor a team while collaborating with external vendors to enhance expertisePresent data insights and recommendations to senior management and stakeholdersQualificationsBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or similar (relevant practical experience can compensate for lack of relevant educational degree)Minimum 3 years of experience in data architecture, BI development, or related fieldsProficient in Azure data services, SQL, ETL/ELT processes, and data warehouse concepts. As well as hands-on experience with Power BI (or similar BI tools) and strong understanding of ERP systems and data migrationExcellent communication and interpersonal skills; with fluency in English as a requirement (fluency in a Scandinavian language is an advantage)Formal project management expertise within lean or similar methodologiesExperience in the retail or sportswear industry and knowledge of data lakes and standardized data sets are preferredWhat we offer
