Our Opening and Your ResponsibilitiesThe Digital Business Services (DBS) department at METTLER TOLEDO delivers comprehensive technical solutions to enhance business productivity, drive innovation and ensure an exceptional customer experience. DBS services cover the entire spectrum from infrastructure to applications and from strategy to global operations. Our Data, Analytics & AI team supports and enables the business with AI platforms, expertise and solutions. To help further advance our AI journey and facilitate the implementation of AI projects across the organization, we are looking for a Data Scientist 80-100% (all genders)You will be responsible to assess, design, build and deploy new AI solutions incorporating analytics, ML, DL, NLP, agentic AI, etc. for beneficial global usage in our diverse business. Understanding the technical aspects, you will also enable and guide business partners in implementing their solutions. You will take an active part in establishing our cross-departmental AI Competence Center, having expertise in data science, data engineering, programming and software development. The ideal candidate will be passionate about artificial intelligence and motivated to support our community throughout this transformative journey.In this role, your responsibilities would include:

• Collaborate with data architects and data engineers to refine our data strategy and develop tailored technical infrastructure, leveraging existing BW4HANA / KNIME
• Design, build, and test AI solutions that meet the needs of business stakeholders and users
• Assist in delivering and preparing datasets for analysis, ensuring adherence to quality standards and improving data cleaning processes
• Understand business objectives and requirements to coach stakeholders in developing models that align with these goals, including metrics for tracking progress
• Comply with strict data, intellectual property and security guidelines
• Manage stakeholders, provide transparency on progress, business case and risks

What You Need to SucceedFollowing requirements are necessary for this role:

• You have at least a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• You are proficient in SQL and Python, familiarity with R, JavaScript or Scala. Strong understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases including data modeling and warehousing
• You bring experience with data integration, cloud platforms, MS-SQL, SAP HANA and APIs, along with a solid understanding of algorithms and data structures
• You have the ability to assess technical projects, including hardware selection, and work independently while approaching problems methodically and pragmatically
• Strong analytical skills, particularly with unstructured datasets, coupled with excellent organizational skills for coordinating work across multidisciplinary teams
• Fluent communication skills in English is required, German is a plus
