Salesforce is looking for an addition to our expanding Data Center Operations team. We’re highly collaborative and work across all areas of our the Data center technology stack. We focus on availability of our critical services for the business, qualify complex compute changes, and trail-blaze new engineering solutions for the cloud.As a key member of our team, you will work in a high-paced operations environment of Salesforce, the largest SaaS platform on the planet, working on the delivery and operations of scalable and innovative solutions for our modular compute infrastructure and proactively defending and securing our customers’ data.Responsibilities:Conduct all day-to-day operations for the Data CenterInstallation of racks/enclosures and preparation of equipment to be installed.Update cable management system as changes are made to data center cable plantUpdate asset management system as equipment is added and removed from the data centerDefine tasks for each project and work with all Tech and Prod teams to meet project timelines as well as provide status to team members and management on the completion of all tasksProvide all information to assist with Data Center capacity planning for space and power.Handle all vendor resources to complete tasks as defined in SOWsMaintain relationship with providers to ensure day-to-day operational successResearch new Data Center infrastructure equipment advancements and recommend changes as neededConduct all audits as required by company policiesCoordinate with the onsite delivery and shipping of all equipment.Will be part of an on-call weekly rotation shared across the Stockholm Engineering teamRequired Skills:Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent and relevant work experience5+ years experience with Data Centers managing hardware assetsProject management approach with the ability to handle tasks in short timeframesExcellent communication skills, both verbal and written in EnglishExtensive experience with rack and stack of server and network equipment installationsSolid day-to-day experience working in large, fast-paced heterogeneous environments, critical production data centers and co-location environmentsSolid experience working with teams of onsite infrastructure build out engineers and vendorsExperience with a large variety of different vendor hardware such as servers, storage, and network equipment.Familiar with the processes of pulling, terminating and testing copper and fiber network cabling. Experience with performing inventories of all cable, power cords and other infrastructure items.Experience in contributing to detailed project plans for programs involving multi-functional teams and complex requirementsAbility to multitask and manage numerous projectsDemonstrated ability to coordinate issue resolution across departmental teams and global teams within multiple time zonesCoordinating vendors, scheduling RMA’s and on-site repairs as neededExperience with Asset Management systemsSolid understanding of disaster recovery and business continuance methodologyStrong sense of methodology, process, and metrics including familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologiesDesired Skills:Consistent record of success and delivering resultsStrong interpersonal and relationship building skills conducive to team developmentPhysical work ability to lift at least 20-30 kg on a regular basis (server lifts are in use)Ability to travel nationally or internationally for training and in support of our growing remote locationsAccommodationsIf you require assistance due to a disability applying for open positions please submit a request via this .Posting StatementSalesforce is an equal opportunity employer and maintains a policy of non-discrimination with all employees and applicants for employment.
