Job Title: Design Coordinator

Salary: NegotiableOverview:A leading client in the construction industry is seeking a skilled and experienced Design Coordinator to support the successful delivery of high-profile projects. This role will be integral to ensuring effective coordination between design disciplines and maintaining communication across project stakeholders from initial design through to handover.Key Requirements:3rd level qualification in Architectural, Project, or Construction Management
Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role
Strong IT and communication skills
Proficiency in navigating BIM models and associated software
Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within a high-performance team
Excellent time management skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlinesKey Responsibilities:Support the design process by facilitating clear communication and coordination between Architects, Structural Engineers, and MEP consultants, and ensuring information is effectively relayed to site teams
Assist the Design/Project Manager in managing and communicating design developments, with particular focus on commercial impacts in collaboration with the Quantity Surveyor
Maintain awareness of commercial and contractual aspects throughout the design lifecycle
Coordinate and monitor the submittal and approval process for designs and materials, ensuring timely sign-off by the Client Representative
Collaborate with the BIM team to address design issues and ensure full coordination prior to model freeze
Oversee subcontractor compliance with design intent and approved submissions
Contribute to the development of look-ahead planning and ensure alignment with project timelines
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all relevant construction regulations, including BCAR, TGD, environmental, and health & safety standards
Arrange and attend design meetings, recording and distributing minutes as required
Manage both internal and external communication with professionalism and confidentiality
Ensure all Operations & Maintenance manuals and handover documentation are issued and approved in line with project handover requirements
Support the aftercare team in resolving any outstanding design-related issues post-completion
Ensure all local authority requirements and building control sign-offs are achieved in a timely manner
Work closely with the quality team to ensure that all quality checks and benchmarks are in line with design requirements
Liaise with the project document controller to ensure the timely and accurate issuance of project documentation, and assist with high-level document control issues as needed
