Make it your story.This position reports toAdvanced Manufacturing Engineering ManagerYour role and responsibilitiesWe are seeking a skilled and motivated Development Engineer with a focus on surface treatment systems to join our growing team. In this role, you will develop and optimize surface treatment processes and systems to meet high industry standards. You will work on a variety of smaller projects, including mechanical engineering tasks, making this role perfect for an all-rounder with a mechanical engineering background. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, production, and quality assurance, to bring innovative ideas to life. If you’re not already certified as a Frosio Inspector, no problem! We’ll provide the necessary training to help you achieve this valuable qualification. You will mainly be responsible for: • Leading the development and improvement of surface treatment systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards • Applying your expertise in surface treatment to evaluate processes, materials, and technologies for optimal performance • Supporting production development projects, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and reliability • Conducting tests and inspections to ensure the quality and durability of surface coatings. • Preparing and maintaining technical documentation, including designs, reports, and process standards • Collaborating with internal teams and external partners to achieve project goalsQualifications for the role
- A B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in Engineering or another relevant field; equivalent qualifications or extensive experience may also be considered.
- Significant experience in the surface treatment industry is essential.
- Frosio certification (Level I, II, or III) is a strong advantage, but training can be provided
- Deep understanding of surface treatment processes, coatings, and corrosion protection
- Knowledge or experience in production development is highly valued
- Proficiency in technical design tools (e.g., CAD software) and excellent problem-solving skills
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with attention to detail
- Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate within a team environment
- Fluency in Finnish and English, both written and spoken
